General Advice for all Treatments

  • It is normal for delicate and sensitive areas of the skin to become swollen and reddened during and following a treatment, therefore you are advised not to make any important social plans for at least a week following your treatment.
  • A patch test will be sent to you following the booking of an appointment and must be carried out as soon as possible to determine any potential reaction. You will be asked to sign confirmation that you have carried out the patch test on the day of your treatment.
  • You should avoid alcohol within 24 hours prior to your treatment.
  • You are advised not to take Aspirin, Ibuprofen or Coumadin within 48 hours prior to your treatment. You should however check with your doctor before you stop taking any prescribed medication.

Beautissima Eyebrow Treatments

  • Please wear your usual eyebrow make-up on the day of your treatment. This will allow me to assess your style, shape and colour. However all eyebrow make-up will be removed for the treatment process.
  • Please do not shape your eyebrows specifically for your treatment e.g. by tweezing. It is better for me to work with your natural shape and to incorporate as much natural hair as possible into the final effect. Any excess hair can be removed as appropriate.
  • Please bring your favourite eyebrow pencil with you to your treatment. This can help in assessing the colour look you wish to achieve. I will then custom blend an appropriate mix of permanent cosmetic pigments specifically for you.
  • Do not wax your eyebrows within 48 hours prior to your treatment.
  • Do not perform electrolysis on the brows within 5 days prior to your treatment.
  • Do not tint your eyebrows within 14 days prior to your treatment.
  • Do not have Botox, other resurfacing or injectable procedures within 4 weeks prior to your treatment.
  • Do not apply fake tan within 14 days prior to your treatment.

Beautissima Eyeliner Treatments

  • Please wear your usual eyeliner make-up on the day of your treatment. This will allow me to assess your style. However all eye make-up will be removed for the treatment process.
  • Please feel free to bring your favourite eyeliner pencil with you to your treatment. This can help in assessing the colour look you wish to achieve. I will then custom blend an appropriate mix of permanent cosmetic pigments specifically for you.
  • Do not tint or perm your eyelashes within 7 days prior to your treatment.
  • Do not have eyelash extensions applied within 14 days prior to your treatment.
  • Do not apply any growth serums or products to the lashes or surrounding skin within 3 months prior to your treatment.
  • If you wear contact lenses these will need to be removed for your treatment and for a recommended period of 24 hours after, so please bring a pair of glasses with you.
  • There is a possibility that you may experience watering of the eyes following your treatment so, as a precaution, it is recommended that you have someone available to drive you home.

Beautissima Lip Treatments

  • Please bring your favourite lipstick with you to your treatment. This will help in formulating the perfect mix of pigments to achieve a custom blended colour look specifically for you.
  • No lip bleaching or lip waxing should be undertaken within 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
  • If you are susceptible to cold sores (medically termed ‘herpes simplex’) you should obtain appropriate medication from your doctor or purchase medication such as Zovirax from your local pharmacy to use 7 days before your treatment and 7 days after your treatment. [It should be noted that the treatment itself does not cause cold sores but can arouse the dormant herpes simplex virus].

Important Note:
Clients should be prepared for the initial colour intensity to be significantly darker and more defined immediately after the initial treatment. This is absolutely normal and within 14 days the intensity will soften and lighten as the skin tissue starts to heal. The true, settled colour will be achieved after 6 weeks. The optimum result will be attained after your ‘retouch’ appointment which takes place 6-12 weeks after your initial treatment.
